Personally I'd stick with 5 int if you're going to do a 3 rune game. Just carry a couple of restore abilities pots, or a royal jelly and be extra careful around int drain monster. Bardiche are the best weapon for a polearms user, the -6 to accuray isn't a big deal - and training fighting gives bonus...

No, Gods' blessing (TSO, Kiku, Lucy) works only on non-artifact weapon - so it can only overwrite a pre-existent ego (flaming, vampiric, draining, ...)

As I said, I don't know the ia's with shatter, but no other foo in game use spells or abilities when the player (or his summon) is outside Los. Is jorgrun different or can I assume he won't track the player exploding wall and screaming "I'm back?"

The rule of thumb is to have t&d around 7 by the end of lair, and train up to 10 before entering zot/extended, but please note that a lot of good players postpone the training to much later levels or don't train it at all! Gauntlets of war are exceptionally good for a melee fighter, but as you said you're more a caster - so I'd use the unrandart one, rc+ and MR should be checked more often than the times you actually attack strong foes in melee, and rpois is also somewhat useful (poison arrow).
