Re: Want to Edit Crawl Files

They are mostly defined in the (C++) source code. The .o files are object files compiled from that source code; what you want are the .cc and .h, but you'll need to know at least some C++ to modify them. The monster stats are in mon-data.h; most weapon attributes are in itemprop.cc; and unrandarts a...

Re: Webtiles

The monster list for Webtiles has just landed in trunk!

As we don't yet have trunk builds, a screenshot will have to do for now.

Re: Webtiles

This is a feature request. It would be great if we could have a lobby chat. I'm not convinced this is a good idea. For general crawl-related chat, there is already the ##crawl IRC channel, and I don't want to induce further separation between Webtiles and console players. (Note that you can access ...

Re: Webtiles

With the new Ashenzari skill boosts in 0.9, I cannot view what my original skills look like anymore, since the _ that views them opens chat in webtiles. Is there a way around this or a way to change it? Hrm, no, I'll need to change the key. Any suggestions? You may be able to redefine the key (for ...

Re: Help with compiling

That'd be rltiles/tool/tilegen.elf. It's called for each of the dc-*.txt files in the rltiles folder.
It's interesting that the tool seems to manage to write the png files (the floor.png, wall.png etc. exist in rltiles/, right?), but then fails for the headers.

Re: Fonts: Webtiles and Console

Webtiles should use the configured monospace font (the font is set to "monospace" in the stylesheet). It seems that the monospace font configured in the Opera settings doesn't change that, though (I think it's only used for completely unformatted pages?); Opera probably uses what is config...

Re: Webtiles

I just logged in with Firefox 5 after the maintenance. The minimap works fine but I have to scroll if I want to see the messages. I got a small monitor and thus my default is 1024x768. It's next to unplayable for me like this. Before the maintenance it was like this when I was spectating at other p...

Re: Webtiles

However, on the skills screen, % progress towards the next level seems to have disappeared. (Unless it's something in the default options that has been changed and I'm just being thick.) That seems to be the case in the normal (non-Webtiles) 0.8 branch, too. I'll look into it. Edit: Pressing * does...

Re: Webtiles

A minimap would be nice, however in the current one, I can see through walls and examine the layout of rooms that should be hidden to me (almost as if I had Ashenzari Scrying, but just for the minimap). Worse, the messages have moved so far downscreen that I have to scroll down to see them, and the...

Savegame transfer is possible now - paving the way for trunk builds! The view size for spectators is independent of the player's. Interface now all...

Re: Playing online with Client software

I was just wondering if it's easier to start building upon the tiles application than starting to create a new one from scratch, ie. webtiles. Well, no, it isn't. The client is the easiest part here. The hard part is choosing which data to send, when to send it, in what format, and then making craw...

Re: The Websocket connection was closed.

There's a bug which causes the server to mistakenly think the maximum number of connections is reached. This will be fixed soon.

Re: Webtiles

Is there a way to change the config file for webtiles? Not yet, but it uses your CDO 0.8 config, so you can edit it via the normal ssh/telnet interface. Is there any plan on adding a monster list to webtiles? Of course, although I'm currently concentrating more on the minimap and a few smaller thin...

Re: Webtiles

is there a chance we'll see it on CAO as well or some other venue in North America? I don't know -- the operators of CAO will have to decide that. Re: The Websocket connection was closed.

Napkin just restarted the server, so the problems should be gone for now. It seems some connections are not getting closed, and the server reached the limit. Hopefully, I'll find the bug before this happens again.

Re: WebTiles trouble... virus?

But i guess the problem with WebTiles is that it is using websockets that is a security risk due to it having many vulnerabilities and that's why most browsers have disabled the support by default. While websockets are theoretically a security risk (they don't have "many" vulnerabilities,...

Re: Webtiles

I do plan to implement a minimap, but it will probably take me some time. If you do implement the full screen map, I could probably port it to webtiles (although I think large parts of the work to implement it for local tiles wouldn't directly benefit webtiles). It would certainly be a helpful addit...

I use it in Gemany, and I get lag, too. But it's not a uniform lag, sometimes it runs very smoothly, until I have a lag of epic proportions or the game freezes completely.
