Take off Dumeheol {rCorr rN+ SInv} and wear the +6 ev ring instead.

You already have rCorr on your hat.

If the +3 Dex shield only gives +1 ev, I'd probably go with reflection (again, already have rCorr on that nice hat of yours, so it doesn't matter that it is on shield).

Personally I don't think I'd do Slime with a DE that lacks a source of resist corrosion. If you got rCorr it can be easier than V5, sure. Note rC+(+) is also nice in Slime because azure jellies are pretty scary!

Yes. Staff of fire, ice, or air can do very good damage. The skill investment to access that melee damage is a great deal if you got the magic/evocations and only need the 12 levels of staves to hit min-delay. I'd assume that weapon generation rates would be altered, if a change like this were implemented. One advantage of ion_frigate's framework is that monster damage and weapon drops would no longer be linked, as they are now, so they could be tweaked separately.

Yeah, OP's suggestion would not be trivial to implement, but it would streamline the interface and even improve the aesthetics of Crawl considerably, and would provide a framework within which a lot of other issues (e.g., polearms-mongering under Beogh) could be more easily addressed.

Congrats! Cool character, and it is always nice to see people succeed with unorthodox builds.

I cannot recommend that folks use axes with a troll, in general, however, and I think you are correct to pinpoint that armor (holy shit) as a major help. Using broad axes as a troll, not so much.

Right, I like to pretend there are not shock serpents in Crawl until the game forces me to acknowledge their existence, but there are situations (e.g., troggie with no good hex wands) where I might wear the rElec boots in Snake.

Running ego only appears on boots. Between an ego body armor and some jewelry swapping, you can usually (not always, of course) have MR+ and either rF or rC around the time you need to do Depths.
