I think that grouping species will never produce a satisfactory result. They vary too wildly. Only dpeg's thematic categorisation makes sense, but it's not very informative.

yeah, bad mutation lottery ticket makes me quit a character (or suicide by reckless behaviour). I once abandoned a midgame conjurer after getting double deterioration from a mutation potion and no sustain abilities. I just didn't want to bother with Str reduced to crap.

Don't worry, this guy could win all right. After getting three runes and clearing Elf and Crypt like you did, Zot could be carefully cleared.

Well, I did a bit of research when playing a ghoul monk to check whether I should be investing in Str or Dex on level ups and found out that Unarmed Combat has 40% Str weight, according to a comment in the source code. So I guess there isn't much difference or Dex might be even better for the purpos...

I imagine it would be hard to autogenerate good flavour of branches. Consider randarts -> their names usually have little to do with what they represent. So, I've upgraded from 0.7.1 to 0.7.2 and would like to keep the ghosts that have been left behind in various places to spice up the game. Is it enough to copy bones files to the appropriate directory?
