Re: Easiest Spellcasting race/bg?

I'd like to say Cj has that dps like berserk, especially the level 2 pre-lair and level 5 spell rest of the game. You can also blind foes for range issues, and use prisms against packs. And u can detonate your prisms by attacking them.

You also get hexes and charms unlocked with the start book.

I think going for a hybrid is just being efficient with what you decide to use for it. This would vary with character creation and god choices.

DGs can hybrid well because of 2stats every 3 levels. When i make DG casters I go for mostly Int, and raise str when I want to upgrade armour.

You can focus down on one aspect of the hybrid at a time or shift training at some goal like master one spell level then switch to min delay for x amount of levels.

All depends on your choices.

That dodge is so low I wouldn't bother taking the shield off. All you really need is regen, spells to boost damage for melee, more escape spells, and some tactic to quickly close in on tormentors. It's fine to skip lair branches if you don't have the resistances for it. Better idea:

Spawn generic wands with no spells. Enchant wands with spells you have learned. one charge = spell level in mana. max charge = player level. Max number of wands = 1. Wand slot now created. yay another ability effect!
Have gods charge wands with spells based on their choosing.
