keeping it on two keys is a very useful safeguard against accidentally hitting the key twice and going back on accident

this is very comforting to have online where you may not be sure if the game is just being slow to load the next floor or if your keypress didn't go through

So now suppose skald and wizard are both 4/4/4... What improved about the game? A book-starved Wizard can transition into being a battlemage or even full-on warrior without having to worry about poor Str limiting their armor options, which is the main thing holding them back from that path normally.

Go around him. Spider:3 has nothing particularly interesting on average so only explore enough of it to find a staircase to Spider:4.

I actually did mean that, although I went and researched a better source (the source code) and I was mistaken; any level can hold up to 27 ghosts.

Some ancient versions (maybe) capped the number of saved ghosts based on the depth, but it seems that no longer happens.

I don't like Shoutitis as that seems to just be punishing stealth on the everyman sort of stealth builds that the race encourages.

I tried that, Torment won't anger butterflies because they have 1 HP and thus are unharmed by it.

You could spam s2s or something instead to get a nice horde of more durable and tormentable fuel going, though

Lightning Bolt is a level 5 dual-school spell that when multi-bounced, does zero damage 2-3 times because it has no to-hit and makes a truckload of noise. It checks rElec.

Airstrike is a level 4 single-school spell that ignores EV. It checks rWind and does extra damage to fliers.
