I've had a similar character concept I've tried to get off the ground. DsCK^Ru, and just see how unfortunate he can get while still kicking ass. The main dilemma I have is I seem to always find a Ru alter just as I'm warming up to Xom antics and don't want to make the switch just yet. But, fun!

Shadow Traps! Summons shadowy sexy streetwalking succubi. Wait, they aren't women!?

I don't love it when there's a Shadow Trap next to a Xom Altar and there's a butterfly that keeps triggering it and literally flooding a quarter of the level with summons. I wish I had got a screenshot!

This happened on a TrCK^Jivya of mine. I had to abandon extended because Str got brought down to something ridiculous like 4. Portal projectile helps with the range problem, but that's not the only problem with having a high STR, primarily melee character.

I run a lot of VpEns into the ground, but the early game is really pretty easy. Focus completely on hexes, get maybe 2 Ice magic or so. Likely horribly unbalanced, but the first thing that comes to mind is DOUBLE FORM! Stone Hydra! Ice Spiders! Sticks to Dragons!

Enchant the speed laj. Keep the venom one around if you want to poison some guys. I might be wrong, but it's my understanding the speed Lajatang will trigger your auxillery attacks more, and for a minotaur that means more headbutts! Keep the quarterstaff around for hydras.

It synergies with Discord really well!

You're right, I know it's not optimal gameplay to sit on these things, and I have a few branches to clear before invariably encountering a shadow dragon. Plus, I just know the second I do it, Oka will drop boots of running on me, hah.

So, which weapon type does distortion lend itself best to? Like what would the ideal candidate of Lucy's piety brand? My guess would be an executioners axe for the multi-distort aspect, but maybe the extra damage is better on a claymore?
