I though the Ice Form was too much a "pause" spell between Spider form and Blade Hands, but the bonus HP/AC and the freezing branded attacks should be a nice help to reach and clear Lair. About gods, I don't really like Makhleb (with StS I don't want to cast the destructions on my summons)...

About your weapon if you go "stealthy", keeping tridents is a good option (clubs, spears, tridents, demon tridents, trishulas are Tier 2 stabbing, as long blades), and you already have some skill and nice items... Let's not split Oka's gifts even more by skilling 2 weapons ;)

About Boris, do you get XP each time you kill him, or only the first ?

And before the Depths integration, there was roughly 25 levels where he could spawn, so getting 20 times his XP could be nice (assuming you don't simply die farming him)...

I want to take an hybrid path. That's why Ash would be good, helping me using multiple magic schools quickly, and letting me use the scythe properly.

As apparently throwing doesn't help that much for Large rocks (my dead Fo of chei only had 4.2 in throwing and still used them efficiently against hydras and as a bolt spell), it may not be that useful to train it when your nets are torn. A simple thing would be to take the gifts away only when there are no monsters in sight. But then, players could simply keep a rat following them...
And not reclaiming the gifts when the player wears them would nearly keep them like it is now :/

I'm more used to Okawaru Fighters in slime, obvious having more than half their equipment artefects, without counting the useful resistances on things other than amulets ... :/
Anyway, 6 AC wouldn't have saved me from stupidity, in Pan :D

I did it on vault 5.
It was less beautiful, as vault guards have more HP and will not die everytime, even from 2 fireballs (Large rock and axe let me kill two of them in the same turn)...

My prefered situation to do this is against the Royal Jelly and his friends :D

Yeah, mostly this. You already worship Okawaru, and you do'nt want to face his wrath. He should give you some nice armors, most of which will greatly impede your spellcasting. Moreover, your two books share no magic school (Leda's doesn't count, as it is too high level), and stoneskin is not as usef...

the problem with the current poison vulnerability was that it gives twice as many poison levels (and doubling the initialy poison attack damage). It means a total damage multiplied by 3 to 4.
