Of course you could just use a wand of digging or disintegration, which is more common. cTele will almost never be a determining factor on Slime:6.

Probably not good on a deep elf or spriggan, but a ghoul can take -23 HP twice or thrice.

YAVP! Ghoul Artificer of Makhleb, 15 runes

For those who don't want to read my wall of text, the whole thread in conclusion: Staff of Dispater with 27 Evocations is literally the best thing in Crawl. Ever. Including Tomb of Dorokhloe and old Haste and 0.8 Tornado. ;) I started as a Ghoul Artificer because it's basically a Ghoul Monk that sta...

This needs to be stickied somewhere for all us noobies. That would do more harm than good. It's just XuaXua's personal branch order and it would be a bad idea to follow it exactly (in particular most 3-runers should stay out of Slime, run through Zot:1-4 instead of clearing them, and Snake/Shoals:5...

You may want to skip Haunt on DDNe and just go for melee, since Makhleb doesn't heal on collateral kills and you won't naturally regenerate the severe statloss from it.

Consider that the weight of corpses used has a big role in the strength of a large abomination and not just the number. A yak is heaver than an orc.

1) A short blade's damage may still be pitiful against demons.
2) You are with Kikubaaqudgha. You don't need any further ways to protect yourself from torment. Also, for future reference, Statue Form slows you down in all your actions so it is mainly a melee spell for damage, and not defensive.

A long blade with freezing unskilled sounds terrible as well. Just to spell it out: your current melee is incapable of doing anything more than scratches. Use Tornado or ninja the rune. 8 Translocations should be enough, yes; when in doubt just check your spellpower. Could always go back to Dis:7 la...

Dispater has rHellfire. This means he will fully resist fire. So whatever you do don't fight him with the staff of fire. Sabre against 40 AC is a bad idea too. Just ninja the rune or use Tornado. Killing him with it isn't too hard, though some decent melee would help. Luckily you have Abjuration. Al...

Level 13 isn't terribly early for Orc:4 especially as a Summoner. Next time, try out Vehumet, maybe. Not only would you have had stronger summons and better casting chances, but also reduced casting costs and, important in Orc:4, Abjuration, a spell that send 'em (the summoned demons) back where the...

(only three runes this time) I started this since despite Troll's not-so-great apts for casting spells, they are quite good casters in the end since they can basically spam all their spells due to being carnivorous and able of eating rotten meat. A simple wand of enslavement can be used as well; just lure them into a corridor and enslave the bee at the frost. Especially considering the killer bee's vulnerability to poison and their low MR, this will quickly bring a pack down. You'll only be fighting a single and hopefully poisoned bee at the...

Extended endgame is really not hard with a transmuter.
