What's wrong with scumming though? The game already punishes you for it - its boring and kills your score. I can't imagine anyone scumming in crawl past his first or second win, or maybe when trying to win a mummy.

cant see why would you want to brand your weapon chaos, it only ever works on quick blades and can still possibly kill you in the late game - berserking stone giants or ettins almost always mean bad news

isnt static discharge simply too weak to deal with caustic shrikes? we are talking about the worst shit you can find in depths, and it comes in pack. i dont think any character whose plan is to use 3rd lvl spell against shrikes will survive 3 turns surrounded by them.

Congratulations on the victory. I wouldn't wear that shield on a melee fighter though. -4 slaying is pretty severe. Especially on a demon whip. rc+ is enough, I'd wear reflection in your place - it makes yaktaurs, stone giants and liches often kill themselves (it makes you feel really good)
