Is there any smart way of using those weapons?

The only approach I could think of was using another weapons for weaker enemies and switch to the *Rage in more difficult encounters. However this can backfire if rage ends in the middle of battle. Should one blink/teleport then?

Having tried the tiles in Angbands, Nethacks etc, I find DCSS's tiles and interface second to none.

I haven't tried Vampires either. It looks too complicated to be any fun for me.

Just off the top of my head, what if the cross/anti skills highlighting and the bonus/malus numbers are not displayed by default, but when you press * ?

Honestly, I think this is too cluttered to my liking. I prefer the current Skill Menu.
And the style of the icons is not consistent with the style of the spell and item icons.
