They actually have synergy, albeit a weak one. UC has fast attacks, and hooves have a chance per attack of triggering.

The shield of the gong is a trap unless you also worship qazlal or have the singing sword.

The warlocks mirror, however, is able to reflect hostile enchantments and is really, really good.

Hostile enchantments means "able to be resisted by resistance to hostile enchantments."

MR only helps against certain threats, and that doesn't include starcursed masses. THe only way to resist it is with stasis, and Im not even sure that works.
