I think one of your main issues is that you are skilled in opposite spell schools for no clear reason. With 10 in Air and Earth you're a lot less powerful than you should be.

Also, Hat of the Alchemist is one of the best pieces of head gear in the game. I'm curious...why are you not wearing it?

Work me through this if you would.

GDR on troll leather is basically 20%. With 10 AC, damage reduction is capped at 5. Isn't that still a decent reduction in damage given no other branding issues? Especially for an Ogre who is going to take a bunch of cumulative nuisance damage?

One more tip on clearing the E:5 vault, maybe a basic one, but one that helped me a lot.

Go get one of your wands of digging and cut a few bolt holes around the end vault. What I mean is, dig some grids where you can lose LoS and pop a tele or drink a pot or whatever your emergency response is.

Ogres are hard to play! I've gotten a few going, but they tend to get bursted down so quickly it seems. I had Agnes kill me in 3 turns...

Yeah, I'm seeing that.

I managed to kill Purgy, Eustacio, and a few Ogres, so I can reliably cast Stone Arrow now, which is nice. So far it has saved me HARD when I got shafted from D:5 to d:8 into a bunch of gnolls, skeles, and a jelly. The dagger bought me some time to flee.

Ranged characters are sweet, but can be hard to get really going.

How is your ammo management going? Are you running out of bolts? If so, pick up a melee weapon and train that up well so you always have something to rely on. Your 8 in crossbows won't do you any good if you don't have any bolts...

It's hard to go wrong with a HeCr or a HeWz for a 15 runer. Great aptitudes in long blades, spellcasting, and air magic, good-ish hp, and great stats. I like to go Oka=>Tso with the build.

Training invocations is useful before going to TSO if you want to use the abilities. Okawaru can help you with that though, especially if you don't care about losing piety. Victory dance with heroism until you get 7 or so in invocations and you're set.
