Well +3 aptitude, manual, wizadry ring means experience isn't the issue, and clarity and blink scrolls means survival isn't. Only consideration is loss of pain brand, I think you'll live. + hey, you'll have borg for the orb run, there's always that :D

Ammo generally isn't that bad, just choose an alternate melee weapon for very squishy guys, one that requires little skill to be good with. Hunter is just one of those backgrounds that is really great for species with the aptitudes for it and really bad for everyone else imo.

I dunno, in my experience super heavy armour just sucks. I mean even if you don't cast spells it kinda sucks.
