Er, how exactly is blink allies encircling a counter to ranged characters? I was just reminded that plagued shamblers melee attacks make potions unusable and they emit a cloud of miasma on death. When fought in the open it's possible to outrun the miasma but in corridors it doesnt seem possible to outrun the miasma.

Agreed, it's awkward, but only other way I can think of to make them somewhat balanced would be to have that simplified ability sheet from my previous post and have spell costs be different then for everyone else depending on spell levels (lv1 spell=1EP, lv2 spell=3EP, lv3 spell=6EP, ...).

A little trick is that if you're playing a blaster and have battlesphere, it is immune to banish, so if you position it between you and the banishing enemy you can shoot it with no chance of getting banished. In fact battlesphere seems to be immune to all status effects, but I'm not sure about blink...
