You can go between Zot & Dungeon easily once you've unlocked it with 3 runes, no restrictions on travel. I'd spend the enchant scrolls to enter the trove. You won't always find things that you need, but more choice is always better than less. As for Mara... you can always berserk and run right? ...

Slings are actually quite good if you train it up. Enchant all the steel bullets you find and they should last a long time.

Just don't hit anything in melee and it won't trigger... fine for pure spellcasters

Does "turn" here http://i.imgur.com/TzdTc.jpg mean the same as "turn" here? http://i.imgur.com/tiSgF.jpg I just noticed that the turn logged in notes as displayed by ?: is way ahead of what's displayed on my character's screen... feature or bug?

Is the wireless adapter still recognised by the pc? Check its status in Device Manager. If you see some unknown device where the adapter should be, then it could be something wrong with the drivers. Reinstalling drivers might help. If it looks ok in Device Manager, can you detect any wireless networ...

If you're a Polearms user, milk the spear traps for spears.
- they're good for throwing (seems to damage better than darts or stones)
- use them against jellys and avoid damage to your primary weapon

You already have Summonings quite high, so one option is to use summons (ugly things, shadow creatures). I'm not sure how high you need it to be to summon dragons. Training up Long Blades from scratch might be possible too but I'm not sure how far you'll get since it's quite late in the game. Maybe ...

You'd want corrosion resistance plus immune or artefact gear before going into Slime. Or switch into something you don't mind throwing away. After a level or two you'll get a feel of how your character is getting on there. If taking down every Acid Blob feels like a struggle, then it's time to back ...

Learn Bolt of Fire if you can find the book... you won't need to worry about AC too much if you can kill the monsters before they get into melee range.
Bump up Fighting for more HP.
and you need a few levels of T&D to minimise the chance of walking into Zot traps later

Kiku does not give 100% torment immunity, at least not in 0.9 (not sure about 0.10)

I'd say forget about the storms or tornado and aim for Shatter instead (raise Earth Magic). It makes better use of your existing skill set without too much XP investment. Turn off Conjurations.
Bump up Fighting - it looks a bit low.
And get Flight if you find it. It makes Shoals a lot easier.

Question on Animate Skeleton:

e.g. If kill an Ogre with a club and you walk over to the corpse and cast it, the skeleton will wield the club
But if you move the club and corpse to another location and cast it, the club does not get picked up by the skeleton

Feature or bug?

Personally I like Bolt of Fire as it's a lot less noisy than Lightning Bolt or Fireball.
You need about 12 Charms for Haste to be reliable. Do also learn Swiftness as that stacks with Haste.
Not to mention those good utility spells like Flight/Dig/Apportation/etc

Pick up a buckler ASAP and train Shields to 5. It gives you an extra chance to block incoming hits. It will hinder melee attack with staves though (you're just holding that staff of cold for the boost right?). Personally I don't like the crystal ball - you need very high Evo for it to be useful, and...

Find some means of recovering MP quickly if you switch away from Sif. I usually get Sublimation of Blood. Or you can try the Staff or the crystal ball (need some Evo skill).

I find that if you see it often enough it blends into the background and tends to be forgotten... bringing up the inventory screen lets you check all your options, rather than have item #6 forgotten cos it does not fit on the main display.

You should have left him till later.
The best option would be to stab him while he sleeps, but at 11 Stabbing I'm not sure if it's enough to kill him. And if you don't, he has 27 hits on you per turn, so that's not a good situation to be in...

You really should start off with a buckler first... starting with medium shield and no Shields skill will kill your spellcasting success rate.

You need your Short Blades skill up a bit more to get to min delay, unless you're thinking of other means of dealing damange. Check the Weapon Speed wiki page for details. I think you can turn off Traps & Doors for now. What are the key spells you intend to use later in the game? Aim to boost up...

Crypt should be fine with your character. For Vaults 8 you can c-blink down one corridor and Fire Storm the welcome party :twisted: just be careful of the crowd that it will attract. If you can find Bolt of Fire, learn it ASAP. Your skills setup looks like you don't intend to do much melee, but you're missing a hard-hitting mid level spell that will tide you over until Fire Storm comes online. Fireball is noisy, while OoD needs open space to use. Clearing Crypt should be fine if...
