Re: CiP: MD Stereotype

I'm kinda short on advice seeing as I struggle to get through the mid-game but I have to say this: "NICE!". I mean, boots of running, rings of slaying... Pure ownage. This might sound weird but on the 1 year or so I've been playing DC:SS I have NEVER picked boots of running or levitation o...

Re: Immutable Laws of the Dungeon of Zot

You start as a DD melee build specialized in small blades just in case you get a lucky dagger of vamp, and you do! On D1, may I add. Then you wipe horribly on some form of mini-hive on D11 by 3rd degree poisoning (bad even with the innate damage shaving!) with no potions of healing, heal wounds or c...

I don't know how balanced this could ever be, but I kinda like the idea of getting abilities (active &/or passive) when certain skills reach certain levels. I guess it's not in the spirit of DC:SS to do things this way, though and I respect that. I love the game anyway. :)

I actually try to get melee mummies up all the time. They splat horribly before I can raise rep with Oka to be able to cast Heroism reliably in bad situations. He's an awesome god for the early game for mummies. But I find the build too drop-reliant to get going. ^^

Re: The 'Questions too small to need their own thread' threa

Does a transmuter keep the combat bonuses of all their mutations in an alternate form? I've been wondering if a TrTm in Dragon Form would do extra damage due to claws 3 mutation. I don't think so. To my knowlege, only Statue form lets you keep your unarmed mutations and auxiliary attacks (it "...

I don't really remember which character this was on, but I found one of those glass vaults with a moth of wrath in it. Behind the small square vault was a rod. Wielded it and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a poison rod... Two smite-targeted poison clouds later: Moth dead, got from level...

Actually kind of like the blob idea... In answer to your final question - You are an extension of Jivya and he really wants to eat the orb. Re: I love Mummies. I suck with Mummies

I've been trying to run Mummies countless times since their lack of a food clock is something I enjoy a lot. Gone with many possible backgrounds, even melee ones. The crappy aptitudes are really bad and you can't scum for exp after a while on each floor or the OOD mobs will get you so the only way y...

Re: How long did it take to get your first rune?

I've been playing DCSS for under a month, and so far I've managed to have 3 runs that ended in a death after getting a rune. This kind of thing astonishes me. I've been playing DCSS for three or four years, with approximately 3000 games played, and last week I got my first rune - got three, in fact...
