How is buff duration calculated? Does it depend on the buff? If so, how are they calculated for Flight and Haste? thx

Bad ass hasted mutant ogre?

So I have a bit of an ogre obsession. All at one time I love and hate how they are so squishy and how easy it is to die if I don't pay attention for two seconds. After countless experiments, I have finally arrived at one of my longtime goals: Swinging a giant spiked club while hasted. It is awesome ...

Least-frequently won species?

The crawlwiki has an interesting little "Difficulty of play" chart on most species' pages, and an explanation of why they are rated as "Novice/Moderate/Master" etc. I am not sure how accurate it really is, as its clearly based off of the article writer's opinion. So I was wonderi...

Re: The 'Questions too small to need their own thread' threa

I had an ogre thrower of chei who used throwing axes of returning for 95% of his attacks from lvl 1-20, he died when I got bored though.. he seemed seriously overpowered but then again I didn't take him past lvl 20 or so.

their throw damage is based on their base damage from what I coudl tell.

Re: Food reform

Right.. I'm also just throwing out ideas on how to get around accidentally nerfing chunk-using abilities while making permafood more important. More inedible chunks (ie: a corpse would have a symbol that meant "inedible" but the corpse would still be there in the first place, and you could...

Re: Race Selection Screen

I don't see why the species need to be categorized in any way.. maybe in the most broad sense of living vs undead. Even then, there is nothing constant between all of the undead (while ghouls and mummies have the typically expected innate resistance to cold, vampires don't and just work totally diff...

Re: Food reform

Regarding a decrease in chunks - This would have side effects on things like Simulacrum, the Necro channeling spell, and Corpse Rot. It might be safer and even easier to just modify the amount of satiation granted from chunks than to reduce the number of chunks altogether. I am not sure if it would...

Re: Food reform

I'm glad to read the reform has been redacted. I understand its point, and as mentioned above I think the best adjustments would be small ones like reducing corpse drop or making more corpses inedible, say because "this creature is too bony/emaciated, and there is no salvageable/edible meat&quo...

I have an 18 ogre transmuter of Fedhas, I've hardly used the plant skills and I save all of my fruit for them. Maybe its bad luck, but after using his fruit consuming skills like 3 times total I have zero fruit.. hardly been able to use plant abilities at all due to that.

Help the Hex School

Hey, I understand that the hex line of spell is underpowered. Well, I think the hex school would benefit from a high-level spell that could hit very high MR enemies, and would lessen their resistances to magical effects and damage and maybe physical damage as well, or some combination thereof. Hexes...

Splinter, 19 KoMo Dies :(

This was my farthest character. I like to play characters with a certain theme or unusual build, and looking at a Kobold I realized: Master Splinter! Awesome. That is basically my explanation for trying a shortblade+unarmed combat build haha, but it seems auxiliary attacks are just really underwhelm...

Bare handed Ogre?

I've had this irresistible urge to play Ogres since probably the second day I ever played stone soup. Beyond that, I'm obsessed with the idea that a bare-handed ogre should be able to crush his enemies, because he's bigger than them god damn it. And I'd like to do it without changing form (ie no tra...
