I don`t get your LRD comparison at all. In this situation and many 1v1 situations, there is only one destination. Take that same hallway above and you have a half dozen LRD targets. Someone should compile a build where every species has:

-25% MP
-1MP cost to every spell

In other words, the concept of 0mp spells may be too good for the game for it to be limited to one species
