I haven't played Crawl since 0.9 or so, picked it up recently, tried a humongous lot of transmuters and wizards (the best one was a DSWz dying a very stupid death on Lair 7), got tired, rolled a warrior. Some ten early deaths later, a randart ring of slaying appears, and everything seems easier. Oka...

I entered, only to find my road blocked by deep water. And that was it for spider's nest.

Still, what should I do now? Lair is dangerous for me - blink frogs are giving me ahard time, and haven't even run into some of the tougher monsters.
