So what you're saying is, poison arrow is basically plant poison mixed with animal poison? I don's see why a poison spell could not generate different kind of poison to be able to affect as many living creatures as possibile. Keep in mind that Poison Arrow is so foul it poisons even poison-resistan...

Pollutants poison plants normally. Simply they're not poisoned by the same poison as animals.

With luck you could even get a nice console result in a x-less environment on a modern debian. Provided the laptop has a nice resolution, you could get at least 80x50 console which is very useful.

From my limited point of view, unless you invest heavily in armor, you'll end up using leather until midgame, so the leather with blink is quite nice. Be prepared to make some other kind of armour ponderous afterwards to be fully bound.

I would rather advice not to leave Trog and stick with him. My first win was a FeBe; not having to care about many objects is bad but also simplifies the game and being unable to use magic is another simplification.
Stick with Trog and abuse Brothers summoning when in danger.

Unless you're playing a FeBE. I acquired two jewels hoping for a rPois and had to clear Swamp without it. Luckily Snake Pits didn't generate, and done Shoals instead. By the way, I got an amulet of Rage and a ring of Ice. On a berskerker.
