Throw flame works fine where its at. You also neglect that fact that when your spell power is well over 30 and you have fireball, you might not want to spend fireball mana on whatever you need to hit.

whenever you find yourself deeper in the dungeon than your character level you should

2. look for a branch to kill instead

If there is a way to stop him from insisting you are a dex character, I haven't figure it out yet, and I've done quite a bit of testing it could be the way it is on purpose.. for some kind of balance purpose.. but he will never just max out your intellect unless you pretty much only, only have magic...

If you're with jiyva, you can put on the golden dragon armour and he will (over a few thousand turns) move your strength over until you can wear it properly

but your casting will still be annihilated as usual

go annihilate lair, when you encounter death yaks or elephants try to get em 1v1 and feel their threat level. pretty sure you will easily kill them. I'd probably go back to the dungeon for a while after that.

I really don't like banishment. You can have an early-midgame character that can handle the game just fine, but if he gets banished BAM you're wrecked. Especially if you aren't a caster or have access to repeated levitation/flight

There is pretty much no way to get an enchanted giant or giant spiked club except via Elrocha, a god gift, or by enchanting it yourself as far as I know. Why is it like this?
