I'd definitely train evocations with this set of rods if you don't want to use other forms of magic. That rod of freezing clouds is worth a lot (clears elf:5 fast, and anything not cold resistant as well).

If you want to play Skyrim, but haven't played Witcher 2: Assasins of kings, you should do that instead. The game is insane. Easily beat both dragon ages for me in both story, character development, script, combat and pretty much everything apart from inventory management.

2 things from me.

1st you should have used the blowgun to kite the same speed orc warriors/melee baddies and

2nd, the 2 posters above me have it right, with a whip of elec, heroism and stair dancing you could probably deal with anything at that point in game.

If playing online the game always asks you if you want to change into the latest version of crawl, if one is available.

Otherwise it seems you would do so only to benefit from some nice changes.

Either way it's completely up to you. Do you consider it scammy yourself?

Actually smiting adds a lot of strategy in game. It's an eye opener, early on it is deadly for any character. Later on it is dangerous if not kept in control. It really makes prioritizing targets much more important.

Yeah the best advice is definitely: know when to stop.

I did end up with a speed 1 regen 1 human at some point, but I also did end up with hunger 3 berserk centaur.

Know when to stop, and if you're good with your set wear rMut for mutaters
