Didn't have too much time to play lately, but made some progress with suggested backgrounds - I have a mountain dwarf fighter on lvl6 now and still very alive. Also did better with the kobold berserker than with the minotaur previously. Thanks again for the advice. By the way - are there some rules ...

Howdy! I'm new to crawl (have played some ADOM and some TOME a while ago) and I get the impression I'm missing something. To keep it simple I always play Minotaur Berserker of Trog. Started around 50x maybe, didn't get past lvl 4 a single time. That's only half of the problem, though - I understand ...
