I have actually done a little experimenting with mutations before. Most of what I have found here has already been said (as I was reading through, I wish I had been here in time to warn about jiyva's behaviours of adding mutations. They do tend to be good but my next point shows a bad flaw). Somethi...

I have also had a lot of luck with cheibriados. The slow movement can be tricky but he doesn't slow your attack speed, he just doesn't like you using speed increasers. Chei gets you some really potent invocations and his passive benefits cover a few weaknesses that are often left open in order to bo...

Yes but as that formula shows; spell casting is worth 4 times less and int is worth 6 times less than the equivalent average magic skill. Early skill levels in magic are fairly easy to raise even with terrible aptitudes. 30 int is worth 6 skill levels in each related magic schools and 12 levels in s...

Non ammo gifts from oka or trog always seemed to me as being a religion based bonus towards equipment RNG. It's simply an increase to the total amount of random loot you get to choose from. Have you found a cloak of preservation? That mixed with an amulet of resist corrosion or any other source of rAcid makes slime pits fairly trivial to a high level fighter. Storm dragon armour, much more importantly, is plate armour that starts out at -1 enchantment (basically) and no useful resistance such as MR, rC+ and rF+. A randart might be better than plate, since it can potentially solve both of these problems, but it is unlikely that even a randart with positi...

Crystal plate armour has no base resistances but has the highest base AC and GDR out of any armour and it's extra penalties are canceled o...

Str is actually the most important stat for all the launchers, but that's because slings, bows, and longbows get a quite large damage boost from str. Also ranged fighters end up relying on having a lot of ammo, really heavy ammo apparently especially if your lucky enough to find steel or silver ammo
