There are some other Ds mutations that just feel like negatives or that I got jipped on the die roll. Titan mutation would just add a bit of flavor... Strength and some extra AC would be a good offset for the lower EV. I suggested the Pan lord sized tile because it was that way in my dream lol.

I'd see what Plate Armor was dropped by the Orcs before pulling the trigger on a PDA... Especially with Trog. 3 EVP is the bee's knees for high AC if you want to cast, but you can probably find a better brand than rN+ just floating around on some Plate.

Vehumet gifts you non-poison damage dealing spells pretty quickly as a Venom mage which effectively removes one of the biggest problems with the VM. You're also pretty likely to be gifted Poison and/or Freezing Clouds which end up being pretty easy to get castable since you've focused on Conj, Poins...

I've only used Shatter in Tomb once. After clearing the initial part of Tomb:1 I shattered one of the hallway corners closest to the upstairs. It still didn't feel as easy as doing the normal hallway clear, but at least it skipped Tomb:2 welcome party.

Why wouldn't you do elf? Its so easy and usually contains some decent loot. I usually do it after clearing D to V but before I do V as long as I've got some decent spells on my casters or a wand of dig/disint on a melee.

Eh, it isn't too hard to get Fire Storm and LCS castable for most casters that aren't wrapped in toilet paper... At least in a 15 runer. Removing the training malus would be nice though so I could pump air for the all powerful Elf clearing spell.

I actually like Abyss. With the improvements its a lot less tedious and way more fun. Its a nice change of pace from the standard pull everything into hallways or use big nukes with a path to the stairs.

OpWz is rather nice. The utility of Wz plus their +3 poison means you can generally get to mid-game at least.
