CIP: DDFi of Mahkleb, 4 runes down - do I continue?

So ... played DCSS years ago, come back to it recently, and I'm doing ok on this run - 4 runes collected {Spider, Shoals, Vaults, Abyss} I'm thinking about going on for more runes on the basis that I got pretty lucky (I think) with gear I've found - I've decent ranged and close up weapons. ⋅&nb...

That said - it's a bit easier if you go Spriggan I think, as they're faster and allow you get out of harms way faster.

After a few 3 run wins I went for the "easy" 15 runer - a Deep Elf Fire Elementalist. Morgue/Dump below - but a few general comments: 1) Hell branches are hard! - mobs showing up constantly and stat draining etc. - make it pretty slow going. Think I must've spend 50000+ turns in lich form ...

Some great advice here. I'd add to that: Always have an escape plan (scroll/wand of teleport, potion of speed), and execute it when you get near or below 50% health. For me, Potions of health are the last, last resort (usually). You drink it, it swings again and hits, you're gained nothing but moved...

Emmm, I'm not an expert, but from the wiki the formula for stab bonus is: dex*(1 + stabbing skill). You need a score of 600 to max. bonus for "non-dagger short blades", and only 300 for daggers. So if you maxed stabbing to 27 you'd still need 22 dex to get the bonus. (600/28). Those attrib...
