Indeed. The concepts of shops in this game are fairly well balanced considering you have to have gold to get things, and the only way to get gold is to traverse the dungeon.

Bows get some bonus damage from strength I believe, unlike crossbows. So starting out as a weak character strength wise means it'll be difficult early on. But, the further you go, the easier it gets. As with most classes that start out weak.

Ah k. Thanks. That's pretty harsh then. I've only gotten 3 mutations from glow before. And they were nasty. Faster Metabolism, less hp and reduced strength. I left that spellcaster in the dust.

Well. The inspiration was that I had picked up a +4 +4 halberd of chopping or something like that. And was satisfied when I killed most everything in one hit. But I know I know, they're slow and inaccurate and you can't use a shield.

Use your invisibility potion. Killer bees can't see invisible, right? You can just run away. And/or use your teleport scroll. Lair is nearly always easier than the dungeon level you enter it from. The Orcish Mines are nearly always harder than the Lair. Ah ok. That makes sense. Since nothing is going to be branding flaming swords or daggers of venom. And btw. http://oi51.tinypic.com/2cxiwwg.jpg Help. :(
