Re: Worst episodes on D:1

Started in a predefined room that had a long corridor with some enemies on display. No regular doors, only one in the floor. Dropped down and appeared at the dead end of a corridor with 2 bats a goblin, hobgoblin and kobold between me and any hope of surviving. The game didn't give me the finger it ...

Re: Bye bye victory dancing

3) Turn manuals from permanent to temporary effects. On the subject of manuals why not keep the end result identical? Which is to say; manuals in the past have been used to leap a particular skill up chunks at a time. Now they could simply add a flat percentage of the progress to the next level. Th...

Re: Bye bye victory dancing

"Experience gained and prior use trains {SKILL_NAME} to Level {LEVEL}." If there is a shorter alternative word to "Experience", it could be used. Training and prior use raise {SKILL_NAME} to Level {LEVEL}. Your use of {SKILL_NAME} in combat raises it to Level {LEVEL}. Use of {SK...

Re: Bye bye victory dancing

I agree, the function of manuals has now been folded into the skill system. There is no need to find another use just to still have items in the game called manuals.

Re: Dual wielding

I'd much rather see melee expanded with special moves that have AoE; that might actually tempt me to play melee characters once in a while :) The problem with adding new attacks or AoE is that it would necessitate a dramatic change melee mechanics to keep the game balanced. As it is melee are quite...

Re: Buffs

Glowing has some very serious side effects, adding it to too many sources makes certain play styles far more dangerous. Especially for mummies! Slowing mana regeneration and adding small amounts of glow to buffs will encourage more users to find some means of channeling mana. That however is not bad...

Re: Manual Is Redundant

Auto levels them up at different rates depending on how often you have used them, manual levels them all up at the same rate (soon level them at player specified rates) There is a use for both of them, auto when you are leveling up generally and the weightings are to your liking. Manual when you wan...

Re: Bye bye victory dancing

The seemingly odd timing is preferable to having potentially multiple skills at 95% of the next level, simply waiting for it to be used. The experience that went into leveling it up is wasted until you realize it has happened and do whatever action you need to do. It adds more micromanagement to the...

Re: Statue Form should be Petrify Immune

Perhaps like this: The fact that the spell/curse sustaining the will inside the corpse only affects flesh, however rotten. It will not purposefully change the flesh to stone, and when an external force does it, it takes time for the spell/curse to reassert itself and change the stone back into flesh...

Re: Octopod Adventures (.9)

Octopodes are dependent on rings to drop early and often to survive, however these are a few tips you can do to help you survive until you find that crucial ring of protection. 1. Train fighting often on weak enemies (more than you do on other races). You need that extra hp early on to survive when ...
