Did redacted really quit because someone was mean?

dpeg is over on the SA thread whining that redacted has been driven from crawl development because someone was mean on the internet (and by mean, I mean they made a single post complaining about a death). Is this true?

Yeah, siprus I'd definitely suggest getting on the haste bandwagon, it is pretty much THE spell for "melee based charm users".

They are available for use in vaults, but don't just get randomly placed afaik. I guess because altars are usually part of an overflow vault or in the temple maybe.

It makes more sense when you come to understand that the central tenet of crawl 0.13 design was to balance the removal of nausea by making literally every other facet of the game harder and more annoying.

Contaminated chunks now provide less nutrition, so you'd get hungry faster after eating one. There's no change to hunger rate that I'm aware of, though.

If you have enough skill, your failure rate doesn't go up. Looking at the shield should tell you "Becoming more skilled with this shield can help you cast spells and dodge attacks better" or "Becoming more skilled with this shield will not help you cast spells and dodge attacks."...

I agree, the only argument against that I can see is that now there is a minor decision point if you are read-id'ing and have both vorpalize and at least one of the enchant weapon scrolls un-id'd.
