I lost a Transmuter to Paralysis in Hell. I never knew who or what did this to me, since the only Enemies on screen were Dispater and a fiend.
Needless to say I was very pissed and feel your pain.
Helleffect Paralysis sucks.

Usually you can teleport anywhere with ctele. Even into black spaces.
If you try to teleport into a wall it will be a random tele instead.

My favorite race by far is Demonspawn.
Got my only wins with them and leveling up is much more fun with the mutations.
And with their apts they can be pretty much everything. Only takes a little while longer ;>

Trolls get really difficult after Lair .. I would suggest a Minotaur Berserker. Maces and Throwing. Soften things up with javelins, then kill em in melee. what happens if teleportitis triggers in a -ctel area while wearing a ring of teleport control? can I cancel the teleport or will it teleport me right into the enemy without asking?

teleport other cast by a Naga Mage on Snake:5 is no joke ..
or let's say it that way: teleport traps or teleport other on any branch end is an adrenaline kick.

I had the same experience. I think they are too hard for Lair:2, where I found the first one. L:3 and L:5 each had another one. Seems to have replaced Hydras, because I havent met a single one. One problem is the dustspam. It uses the calcifying dust nearly every round, much like a transmuter ghost....

I don't think the "main cost" of developing new skills before was XP or hunger. I think the main cost was having to use methods that didn't work. When you find a demon trident, but only have short blades trained, you do more damage with a sabre than the trident. So the yaks would kill you...

dont play around with the "grey disc" in narrow corridors. Self-Killed my XL15 Spriggan with 1 use :(

Tab-Spamming to get rid of the green rats in lair is convenient.
It's less convenient when there is a 8-headead hydra lurking around the corner that you fail to notice.
3 free attackrounds for a hydra = YASD!
