I guess the only reason I thought of getting conjure ball lightning is because it would give me a way to deal non-fire damage as AoE, but I don't know if that's actually helpful... of course it would require me to unlearn some spells to make up for it.

Cleared Lair, orc, dungeon, spider, swamp, elf, vaults 1-4, and currently doing depths. Ive been using amulet of harm since the beginning of the game up until 1 level ago... Giving undead complete poison immunity really changes things for venom mages. Before, I could easily get through the early game with only venom bolt, now that's no longer possible. As of 0.11 my poison spells no longer word on undead, or at least not on the ones I care about like necrophages and tough zombies (eg zombie hill giants). When I try to cast a poison spell when there are only undead targets around the game tells me there are no viable targets. I tried several times ...

Summoning is far from necessary until the late game (Hell, Pand, Tomb). Poison Arrow, OOD, Freezing Cloud and utility spells like flight, dispel missiles, and haste should allow you to do a 3 rune run. The only summoning spell you should consider for the early game is Animate Dead...

Thanks for the great replies, I really appreciate all the help I can get! What is the difference between stones and sling bullets in terms of damage with slings? So far the only difference I found is that stones are always +0 while sling bullets can be magical. I have been thinking about collecting a bunch of stones, since they are so common, and enchanting them.

If a monster is unaware of you because you have a lot of Stealth and you attack it, will you always be revealed by attacking? Can you have a high enough Stealth skill to remain hidden even after attacking? Is there a way to define a "quiver" order? Say I am using a Sling and in my inventor...
