Ascetic is just good to attempt in this run because that is the hardest challenge, and you get multiple deaths to get it. I think it would be more sane to not attempt a crazy challenge conduct when you are playing a horribly weak combo. If the combos are random, probably all future ones will be sig...

Ascetic is just good to attempt in this run because that is the hardest challenge, and you get multiple deaths to get it. I do agree that it is hard, but it is better to lose the T1/T2 bonus and get the ascetic bonus vs not getting the ascetic bonus. I've personally found a few early levels of steal...

Honestly just turn on fighting dodging stealth and evocation and don't really focus on your skills (may want focus a bit more on UC earlier on). There really isn't much to it. This challenge is a bit complicated as it ultimately depends on what you want to go for. I think Ru is stronger than Dith for the T2 bonus, Ru is stronger than Dith in general, an early Ru is better for an ascetic rune attempt (though it would be difficult to get on a weak character). While I do agree with the premise of this thread, I feel like some of these changes promote linearity and the lack of linearity is what makes DCSS unique compared to other roguelikes like Brogue and Infra-Arcana. A nerf to bloodless seems like a good change (instead of a buff to Alive). It ultimately depends on how strong we want vampires to be as a species. Interested in hearing what others think of the change. I probably won't be playing on the branch until CSDC is complete.

Abyss would probably be easiest, followed by slime and then by Vaults 5 for this character.
