Use god abilities, wands, or avoid.

If you must use a tmut, maybe even beastly appendage is better than forms that make you so easy for them to hit/hurt.

Tmut can also learn other spells and use those to kill hydras, of course.

Constrain LoS, kill them ASAP, and hope not to get screwed.

Sometimes an orc or w/e summons a malmutator and you can't kill it in 1 turn or break LoS easily. Best you can do is limit the chances of it happening.

I don't think it matters. You can generally just walk away from the spawned monsters if you're not a naga or barachi, and they'll time out. Statue is same as things like moon troll or even hell lords...if you don't want what they're holding you can jack the loot and leave.

You can bribe Tomb, yes. You'd need a lot of dosh considering the large numbers of strong stuff, but by then you probably have it.

Lugonu's actually not a bad option either. Not worth switching from Gozag, but corruption and self-banish escape are both pretty useful in tomb.

Sum of AC+EV+SH is a good rule of thumb. But note that EV and SH are binary: either you dodge or block or you don't. AC always shaves off melee damage. There are multiple ways depending on spells, god abilities, and consumables available. Sometimes you can just straight up kill vault wardens so you don't need to blink/TP anywhere.
