It's a bad idea to hang around in one place regenerating for too long, it wastes way too much food and it's not worth it.

Perhaps for the purpose of counting enemies, it could only count those that were on that floor to begin with?

After a 2-year hiatus, I am now playing Crawl again!

I have mixed feelings about a lot of the intervening changes between 0.10 and now, I'm going to miss Summon Ugly Things, but it's nice that a lot of the annoying things got reformed.

On D:17 I found a vault taking up the entire level. All the walls were either stone, metal, or crystal. It was a maze-like thing, kinda hard to describe

Easy. They haven't updated the trunks to 0.12 yet. They've been there for a while, there were there being developed all the time that the 0.11 release candidate, 0.11.b1, was there, they've just been tucked away in the RSS streams rather than there on the page.

Everything in Crawl is biologically male, regardless of what it thinks it is.

I love whoever made this vault so crazy. It was like a mini Orc: 5. I managed to kill them after many tries, but I'd be afraid to try it out without the army I had. Add "force_more_message = feel drained" to your init.txt file. That way you'll get drained once and then can take steps to avoid being drained again, rather than being drained five times before you even notice.
