You shouldn't put anything into weapon skills before XL10, and you should be sure to pick one by XL15. If you find something nice between those points, go for it. If you're XL15, you can't wait any longer and will need to settle for something FAST.

Don't just go entering them all without caution. Sewer and Ossuary can be easily beaten with most characters. Seriously, they can hardly hurt high-AC enemies anymore. Summon Ice Beast is now near-useless as an anti-hydra and anti-bee weapon now, and it's easily outperformed by CCF.
