Re: Redesign Proposal - Demigod (or, a new Species?)

The description for Demigod was never accurate. The mechanics of Demigod were designed well, to make a proper Demigod going by the definition of the word. Maybe there was some confusion with the description of Demigod, maybe it was based in Forgotten Realm lore. Maybe only the description needed to...

Re: Make digging as rare as scattershot/clouds

The thing I like about Digging is giving players opportunities to feel clever and make their own path, quite literally. What I don't like about digging is its potency as a combat/tactical tool. If it took 5 turns to dig, and/or it only dug one tile per charge, I think I'd like it more overall. As fo...

It would work as a background only if we changed the definition. Right now backgrounds are just starting kits - they're the stuff you enter the dungeon with. The only permanent part is a few stats, and there are none that do a big rules change like this one would.

I played to about XL 15 last night. It's a pretty radical departure from the way things normally work, but so far it seems like a fun gimmick. Re: Redesign Proposal - Demigod (or, a new Species?)

the optimal play with Chei passives will frequently be to keep your "piety" at 0 so that you don't get slowed. That is obviously bad. Maybe a different slow movement penalty than Chei's would work, but adopting Chei's directly won't. I agree that would be bad, but being at 0 piety doesn't...

My specific tweak suggestion is to not slow you when you inherit Chei passives, and to not give you -10% HP when you inherit Hep passives, because those penalties are not part of the individual powers themselves. Random quick thoughts: Getting passives at level 5 and reworking your build around it is pretty fun. It's also common to get something that's useful ...

I submit that Chei's popularity is because of people being attracted to Chei's abilities, not Chei's slowness. Otherwise I'd expect nagas to be a lot more popular.
