How does it explain the discrepancy though? Does one of these rankings use "game" score, and the other "challenge" score?

EDIT : Oh I see it now, the division ranking is an average, while the overall one is absolute.

Yay, just got the tier I bonus! Dephts 2 is too tough for me though ; it has a large vault with all 3 downstairs and lots of monsters, I quit after expending much of my consumables. Maybe time to get a rune?

I think you should consider playing a Demigod Tm. They have very good HP and no useful mutation, their high INT means you should need to spend less exp in magic skills (easier to focus on UC) while STR/DEX help your evasion and forms damage. Furthermore, it will help you get used to the Tm playstyle...

Yes, new Abyss monsters can be... fun.

About that banishment, you did have Butterflies (a little investment in summoning can go a long way, especially if you happen to also find shadow creatures), and also an unequipped ring of protection from magic (kinda helps against banish)

Elephant slugs are also really slow and lack a ranged attack, so even if they do wake up a Spriggan can outrun them easily

Sandblast applies AC three times though, so it might not do a lot of damage on an orc wearing chain mail or plate armour (use stone arrow instead)

Speed is also very potent on big weapons, especially early on when you don't yet have the necessary skill for min delay (seeing as it halves weapon delay)
