Sticks to Snakes is in the book, and they're even better at casting it than some other races!

(That said, there would need to be special case code anyway to prevent them from starting the game with beastly appendage memorized. I imagine this was a simpler solution.)

The biggest difference to my chunk management is auto butcher. I don't know if that existed before and I just didn't know about it, but that definitely improved my hunger management (not that I ever had a particular problem with it, but I end a game with 40 rations instead of 5.)

You could try TrTm^Trog and just run around yelling "BLADE HANDS" while clawing things to death, that works pretty well.

My actual suggestion for playing transmuters is to play sludge elf, which I realize isn't helpful since they don't exist any more. But it's the best I've got.
