eh, either way I wouldn't do swamp or snake with out poison resistance, and I wouldn't do shoals without an on demand source of levitation, usually the spell or flight. You can usually have at least one of those by the time you're done with lair.

Re: Oz Refrig vs Freezing Cloud

I'm not exactly sure, but I do think multiple sources of conservation do stack. At that point in the game I'd actually say that while pots are useful, they're not near as important as early in the game. For healing, you're much better off with a wand of healing. If you don't have one, then now's the...

I found a pearl dragon armor on D:2. Thought it'd have to be a mimic. It wasn't! Tried to put it on, was dead from a snake by the time I was finished putting it on. Lesson learned? Don't put on large armor in an unexplored dungeon when you're level 2.

Sure, if you know people who play crawl and enjoy this sort of thing that sounds fun. There might be a severe case of back seat driving though. I'd mostly just raise strength so you won't go crazy always getting burdened. If you're good at managing your inventory and don't mind going back to your stash often, then you surely leave your strength at 5 or 6, though having it a tad higher makes the gameplay less frustrating.
