As a compromise, Djinni could start out with heal wounds identified, without actually having that potion. That would already be a significant advantage, without being too unfair with respect to other species.

Now, really, it would be good to see some win-rate comparisons to previous tournaments to get an idea what impact the most recent changes had on that. I suspect that win-rates went down somewhat, but that's just based on my experience. Tournament results would give some hard data.

Happened to me, too. There was quite a long succession of versions where read-IDing scrolls was basically non-perilous, as long as you stood on stairs and out of sight of monsters. Now you have to pay more attention.

Do stones really qualify as throwing ammunition? They are badly needed for the Sandblast spell, and have been rare enough already in the early game. In any case, so far I can't confirm that abundance of stones has gone down in my games.

There is no connection whatsoever between optimal play and re-start. By re-starting each game that doesn't go as you expect, you lose. You pile a big load of manure over your win-rate. That says it all.

Capacitive Coupling doesn't take longer than two or three turns, which makes it excellent against single fast-moving opponents. But it is entirely useless against summoners, as you are more likely to hit that little demon next to you instead of the dread lich that called it.

I think you can increase your success rate for CL quickly by adding a few levels of Spellcasting, where you are still very low, and where adding levels is currently much cheaper than adding the spell schools.

Almost all damage spells are inhibited by summons and other allies. A damage-caster therefore has very little use for allies, as they tend to be in the way of things.
