Things Skyrim could learn from Crawl

Been playing Skyrim, loving it, but jeez, what a time hole. It sort of makes grinding fun-- smithing gets you good gear quickly, for instance-- but still. I'd say the biggest thing mainstream RPG developers could learn in the anti-grind department is simple: merchants shouldn't buy. Skyrim drops a l...

I can't remember ever getting GDA early. I think I recall finding artifact Crystal Plate early on once. It killed me via stat death when I put it on.

My best D1 finds lately were a ring of magical power and a sling of flame.

You have heaps of food for the labyrinth, I'd be surprised if you got through the meat rations, let alone the bread.

Mephetic Cloud + Throw Icicle should work on the minotaur. I killed a character once by being so excited to get to the end that I took him too lightly.

Quite sure that deep dwarves can't use the regeneration spell. Spoiler wiki says that the health you drain with vampiric draining is based on spell power, which is based on (in this case) necromancy skill, plus any boosters.

Summon Small Mammals is useful for escapes, I've often seen it on people's spell lists even though they have no other summoning spells.

Silence and Deflect Missiles are pretty major. You could use Sure Blade to train Enchantments so that Flight is reliable and attempt to train Air as well.

To weaken the ability, make it kick in at CharLev 5 (or higher). Berserk loses its shine as the game goes on. To reflect the player ability, add Ogre berserkers as a new monster type-- possibly equipped with helmets, spiked flails, and shields... or butt naked. Add Rage to the Ogre Mage spells. Remo...

YAOS = Yet Another Ogre Suggestion Somebody suggested the ability to toss dwarves; which for some reason made me think that Ogres could have the species ability to go berserk. Out of the three caster gods, I usually pick Kiku or Vehumet over Sif, and if the first two aren't available I'll consider Chei or Makhleb. I'm annoyed when I feel I'm stuck with Sif. I'd much rather use a demon whip of speed than a quick blade of electrocution or pain. In the case that you can't get speed wha...
