Congrats! Swiftness is usually casted near stairs so you can retreat upstairs alone and have -Swiftness there. Also it's useful with ranged attacks - cast Swiftness, retreat while it's active and then shoot/cast while the monster is not adjacent. Edit. I am not sure +5 vorpal spear is all that good...
