Gozag and collection of gold

Throughout game gozagites produce many piles of gold. Gathering them takes almost as much turns as actual fighting - which not only affects score, but can be dangerous in some areas with fast roaming monsters such as Abyss, Pandemonium and Hell. Doing so through apportation is faster, but very tedio...

Re: Embodiment of a God

They look like player character. Gods are shapeless and use their most devout followers as avatars. This relationship is similar to that between Jesus and Yahweh, or Dalai Lama and Avalokitesvara, or contemporary Shinto priests and their deities. If there are no avatars, worshipers simply picture th...

chei was never the best.

Except being the most common god for speedrunning. Cheibriados has most high scoring games.

Re: Bultungin/Gnoll Feedback

I just completed first gnoll game. It was a total snorefest. They are like demigods, but without crazy stats and access to nice things.
I join suggestion to simply give them positive aptitudes and lock their skilling in auto mode.

Re: Dealing with Mutations

My characters always memorize Summon Lighting Spire, because it blocks line of fire and can get rid of single nexoqec or shining eye. It's not enough to deal with cacodemons or OOFs, though, but it may give enough time to find an opportunity to deal with them safely.

Re: Cheibriados

I suggest --Su or --IE. DESu, BaIE & TeSu in particular.
The problem with Cheibriados is one thing: ze takes away ability to flee and regenerate by pillardancing. Summoners can avoid melee and block line of fire by swapping places with their summons, which is almost as good.

Re: Minor Hepliaklqana observations/suggestion

Felid ancestors also wear armor and can wield axes.
I suggest restricting felids and octopodes from worshiping Hepliaklqana. Cats and octopuses are solitary and abandon their offspring way before maturing.
Or renaming their ancestors to masters. Felids do have dead owners after all.

Re: How do you break Tomb:3?

I did new tomb a few times, although I'm yet to do it without necromutation. So far, I positioned character near exit, and then maintained a crowd of allies (Spellforged Servitor, Summon Horrible Things, Control Undead) to keep entrance jammed and safeish-ly kill things from distance while keeping a...

Re: Casual League Week 7

Tier 3 late. I was going to play as pure spellcaster, making use of low hunger costs provided by spellcasting, but then Gozag sold +10 crystal plate armour "Equwkem" {rN+ Slay+3} and the rest of the run was defined by that. Also, I don't recall even fighting orbs of fire. The ones encounte...

Re: ITT: we post species organizations and argue about them

What are objectives of organizing species selection screen? [*] Making it more convenient for all players. [*] Giving new players easier time to select. [*] Seeing even more minotabber ghosts 99.99% of the time it is seen by returning players, so why new players are such a priority? I don't understa...

Re: Remove Ghoul rotting

FR: When a ghoul kills a monster in melee and it leaves a corpse, the ghoul should immediately gain the effects as if it had eaten one chunk from that monster's corpse. If the corpse was only going to produce one chunk, it would also be immediately destroyed as if butchered (possibly leaving skelet...

Re: ITT: we post species organizations and argue about them

Alphabetical order would be excellent. This may come as a surprise to you, but the goal of organizing the species screen is to help people who don't already know which species they're going to play. Do such people exist? New players usually play by guides, and if they don't, they are advised in tuto...

Re: Proposal: Simplify vampires by removing bloodless state

Vampires have fun bite mechanic. At thirsty and below they can get health and satiation by stabbing. Seriously, try playing stabber character with Uskayaw/Hepliaklqana and you will see that slow regeneration and stab healing transform gameplay amazingly. Lack of regeneration wouldn't be such a probl...

Background proposal: shapeless yogi

TL:DR; challenge class based on Jiyva. Player benefits from good mutations and slimification early, but has to deal with constant item destruction. Shapeless yogi is an avatar of slime god. They possess constantly shifting attributes and mutations, and are expected to provide items for satiation of ...

Proposal: make vampiric bite work on demons

Problem: Vampires suffer from the same issues as Gozag followers before 0.17: * In beginning and up to orb chamber they function well, as there are plenty of living enemies to affect and exploit. * If players decide to tackle extended content, they soon find their powers lacking and even obstructiv...
