Well currently, if you are standing adjacent to two open doors and you try to close one, you are prompted as to which one you want to close. I just pictured it working the same way whether the doors are closed or open.

I love this idea! Also, just a quick suggestion, could Shift-C be changed to open/close door instead of just close? There have been times when I've closed a door and then hit Shift-C again, thinking it would open it, only to be told "there is no open door nearby" (or something similar). It...

Mutation resistance. The amulet version lets those potions through, but the mutation is effective versus all sources of mutations. I am not a fan of the "gain" potions being mutations rather than simply applying; that makes them much less rewarding and easy to lose as opposed to, say, a p...

I understand wanting to stick with one race/class combo to limit your variables, I did that myself at first. But honestly, I think you get a much better idea of how the game works if you give a lot of different combos a try. I'd suggest doing something like making a goal of getting each of these to ...

So, do only fire and ice count? Or is there some randomness involved? I'm not 100% positive, but I was under the impression that it's just Fire skill that counts. So if you have any Fire skill at all, you'll get the fire+earth book, and otherwise you'll get the ice+air book. Edit: Ok, I just checke...

Is it possible you received the book while in a portal, missed the message, and then left the portal? If so, it'll be gone and wouldn't show up in the CTRL-F find list (I think). Vehumet gifts all three conjuring books before the summoning books if your Conjuring skill is higher than Summoning.

You can rebind it by putting something like this in your .crawlrc:

  Code:

where C is the key you want. You can specify ctrl with ^ as well, (so [^C] for ctrl-C). I think the key is case-sensitive but I'm not sure.
