Choosing a god with an Ice Elementalist

Hi there !

Tired to play melee, I decided to try spellcasters. I have a Golden draconian Ice elementalist. And I wonder which god to choose ? Vehumet worked fine with my fire elementalist attempt, but I don't know if this god could work with ice. Any ideas ?

I often forget Brother's in Arms. It's a mistake I won't reproduce again.

Re: CIP OgHu of Trog

Unfortunately, my ogre died a floor 3 of Lair. I met a pack of wolves, which leaves me at 15 HP and polar bears finished the job. Tried to haste and escape, but polar bears managed to have a snack. I'll try another run to have a giant club before lair.

I focus M&F until the mindelay of my spiked club. And I will now train Dodging and avoid armour. Thanks :)

CIP OgHu of Trog

Hi there ! I started an Ogre for the fist time. I chose to follow Trog because I didn't know which god would be good with this character. I am at the first floor of Lair, and I have a few questions. But before questions, here's the morgue file : Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup version 0.19.1 (tiles) charac...

Yep. I forgot haste in my message. Never forget haste, even for casters.

With a caster I don't know how to kill her. But with a melee character, I use th Sining one's halo, and a holy wrath weapon. Having rN +++ saved my back too.

Playing too quickly often means dying quickly. Don't worry about that.

If you want to win, don't use it, unless you can handle horde of monsters. If you don't care about winning, Gong shield is pretty fun.

The sword only makes noise during a fight. Use it if you don't have better weapon to use.

Why not Okawaru ? With this stuff, it could be playable too.

Because trog is a free 3 run win

If you find Oka before Trog, go for it.
Otherwise doing a Berserker instead of Hunter is the easiest way.

I'm trying Draconians as casters. It's pretty fun (even if I die often due to my lack of caster's knowledge, but I learn fast)

Re: Trog in Crypt/Tomb?

Trog likes when you kill spellcasters and magic users. So piety should not be a problem. Lure enemies when you can and bring some food (bread, meat or fruits). Lots of food, and scrolls of remove curse (mummies can be very very annoying). I succeed with a minotaur of Trog. It was not specially easy ...

The Vault was cleared easily. But my poor dwarf died in Depths 2 killed from afar by a titan. I was too confident. But it was my best deep dwarf.

I followed your advice. And I'm very surprised. I finished Shoals for the first time ^^ It was much more easier than I expected. Killing Polyphemus was easy too, and I got my second rune. I'll check the Vaults and scout Depths after that.

CIP : DDFI of Makhleb

Hi everyone ! I started a Deep Dwarf Fighter. And I wonder what to explore now. I finished Lair, Orcish Mines, and had Snake Pit's rune. I finished exploring dungeon too. I wonder where to go now. I don't have any ring of resist corrosion, so Slime Pits will kill me I think. MR is a little weak too,...

I started a Deep Elf Conjurer. Who died because I was too stupid. I managed to kill Dowan and Duvessa, but I let Eustachio's summons surround my poor elf. I also tried a Naga Venom Mage, but I find DECj more easy for me.

I need some advice for casters

Hi everyone ! I used to play melee characters and it became boring for me. So I want to try magic-based characters. But I don't have any idea which race or background to choose for a first try. I don't know which skills to train (depending of race and background) too. If someone has an advice to hel...
