Mostly because I couldn't think of anything else or an efficient way to limit it (extremely low recharge speed, max MP drain, food, normal drain, all sound boring). However it's true, you can already play this guy with a bloodless vampire: he'll heal when biting and stabbing.

IMHO, the best way to power up Sif would be by making the book drops work by having Sif propose one of two books, with the player able to choose between them. It's still situational, but it should be an aid.

It was meant to slaughter unwary players when they tried to chop up corpses :P the weapon went back in their unsated hands, and they instantly died. It does give a very small advantage to undeads, though.

Conjure flames is actually a very nice spell. Used in corridors, it has effects similar to blink. I still have to understand how it interacts with different intelligences, however. It can also be used as a 1 time shield against bolts of cold, which should go well with haste.
