Re: Ru question

I recently took a GrFi of Ru with 15 runes.

Think I did Courage, Resists, Stealth and no Conj/Trans magic.

Courage was interesting. It made me play a less reckless. But with Ru I tend to be more reckless so maybe I just played normal. Lack of resists wasn't a big deal.

This looks like a really bad idea, especially -tele. Basically it means that you die.

it's basically tree form cons.

Can this thing wear armour at all? Wouldn't you need a way to boost AC like Draconians?

I think with Ru there's a sacrifice that you make in which you wish you could take back. But that's the charm of Ru and makes you play because you have those sacrifices.

Nice win! Ru is awesome.

Main way to increase spell power is probably INT then? I thought the spell school was at least far better than spell casting. Getting invis down to a good cast rate isn't a huge sink with a SpEn.

So what should Hexes be for a spen at end game? I figured you don't need more than 15ish unless you go discord. But even then is that enough?

I've glanced at the guide. Didn't really care for it. Guides are annoying for this game because nothing fits into the mold. It's like spending the whole time pushing a square peg into a round hole. Even worse is people bring up the guide as justification for actions when there are CLEARLY better one...

I like Pan -> Hell -> Tomb.

Tomb probably easiest though with Gr and TSO. Go slow and bring mummies back to you like the greaters and priests. Mummies are slow anyways.

Pan be weary leaving certain levels makes it impossible to get back to them.

They have Injury Mirror and if you aren't paying attention it'll do a good number on your HP. Plus they usually have a two handed polearm so reach action. I think they are just bad news if you are inexperienced.

For what it's worth, I could swear that Death Knights show up scaringly early now, but I haven't found any hard facts that support this claim (because in today's world, nobody belives a thing if you don't wave a signed paper in front of their head). I've had to skip floors because of them. Oh well....

Every snake rune vault has more or less the same problem, given that they're all packed full of giant, slow bags of hp that both take some effort to kill and take forever to lure back to a choke point. I just wiped out to 5 guardian serpents in snake:4. I never enjoy snake:4. I used to really hate ...

CiP Standard GrFi of Ru

I just wanna know if I should switch to TSO and try extended, stay with Ru and try extended or just get the win. Game has been pretty easy what with Ru kicking butt and decent gear. Re: Silly question: Slow + Carrying the Orb

OK I think I understand.

Being slow really doesn't affect the time before you actually teleport. However monsters get more actions than the player due to the slowed effect. But it's really the same number of actions for the monsters, the player just has less.

Would having the Slow effect as well as carrying the Orb make reading a scroll of teleport and actually teleporting take roughly 20 Turns? more? Less?

Nice! I found Ru to be quite strong. An early altar can make a huge difference. I've seen a few cases of players taking lots of small sacrifices, but that doesn't seem like a good idea. Get the piety up early to get help when it's most needed: early! It's not a good idea to take a bunch of little s...

Ended just getting three runes and going for a win. While you don't *need* LCS and/or Shatter for a three rune, it is damn fun to get them and use them.
