Bubble wrap traps. They work like alarm traps, but they mark the trap, not you. The enemies swarm to the trap and then, when in sight of it, become distracted by it as with gold when serving Gozag. Once the bubble wrap is all popped, the distraction ends and the enemies resume being hostile.

Yeah. It's nice to be able to leave the ancestor and head out of its LOS to deal with something, but it sucks to wait around for it to catch up. Random energy should be enough to give the player the lead on the ancestor the majority of the time.

You run into them earlier so you know what branches you got. That helps you know what to try for in terms of items and equipment.

(That's what I take away from it, anyhow. For instance, if I know I rolled Spider, I grab lots of poisoned/venom-branded stuff I'd otherwise ignore.)
