Re: Removing the Charms Skill

Moving Freezing Aura to pure Ice (already the strongest elemental school, IMO) wouldn't make Ice Magic any better. Freezing Aura is maybe used by one character archetype or is fixed to a weapon and then tossed away. Deflect Missiles still requires a good amount of Air Magic unless you want to get Ch...

Re: Merge evocations and traps&doors

Bows and crossbows are two different animals entirely. Pulling a bow relies a lot on strength. A hand crank helps a lot with winding a crossbow. A crossbow, by all means, shouldn't be a repeating weapon but it is because otherwise gameplay would be insanely tedious. I'm not shooting the idea immedia...

Zot traps will appear all over the place, not just in Zot. Blade Traps can be a pain in the butt if you don't have decent EV. T&D is fine as is. If it's extended we're talking about, you're going to want maybe even just a few levels for Tartarus. Bugger Ereshkigal and her hide and seek!

Conforming spells to your playstyle is not a good idea. This is a bad idea. T&D, while not a skill that you'd actively attempt to get a ton of levels in, is useful and doesn't seem to need changing at all. It helps detect Zot Traps, which is useful enough to begin with. Evocations is a whole different ballpark. Don't lump the two together when they b...

Currently Str is required (3x the EV penalty!) to use heavy armours and may be more important than Armour skill itself. Of course the bonus to carry value is nice. Although it's not as important as Int, Str does apparently increase damage by 1.28% per point.

The two Lair runes (two of three spawn; Swamp, Snake, Shoals) and then the Silver Rune in Vaults:8. Those are the standard 3-runer runes. After that, the Golden Rune in the Tomb is common in 4-runer games (skewed by the fact that 99% of people who do this are worshiping Kiku).
